The Akai AP-D210/C is a direct drive record player with auto return function. Going by a 1982 brochure[1], it could be considered a mid-tier model.
Known Issues
End of ground lead breaks easily
Causes
- Poor material choice by the manufacturer.
- Lack of an end terminal.
Solutions
- Add an end terminal (fork type highly recommended).
Disassembly Notes
Lock the tone arm and remove the platter and 45RPM adapter as to avoid damaging the lid.
Some wires are permanently fixed to the P.C. boards. The inner frame is also made of plastic and might be brittle.
The screws around this plate on the bottom cover should not be removed.

The capacitor listed below is suitable for all but the universal (U) model, since it uses a different type. Match the voltage rating to that of your local line voltage when shopping for a replacement.

These caps do not leak, they instead dry out.
The P.C. board number these specifications are based on is the P1021B503A, but they might be universally compatible with *501A, *502A, *504A and *505A (confirmation needed).
