Welcome to Caps Wiki! This site is dedicated to cataloging and sharing information on repairing devices. It's named "Caps" wiki because in older electronics they are one of the more common causes if problems. But any repair information for devices of any age is welcome to be put here.

Create a New Device Page
There is a New Page Guide for a more thorough explanation with examples and tips but if you just want to get started you can enter the name of the device you want to document and hit "Create page" to create a page!
(If you've never edited on a MediaWiki site before you may want to know you can switch editor types in the upper right of the text area to use the nicer VisualEditor)
There is an Example Device page to act as a tutorial on what information goes in the different sections.
Getting started
This site is still very new and the guidelines and rules are still being worked on. Here are some rough guidelines to start out for new submissions though:
- Please upload any manuals, schematics, ROM images, or other manufacturer created documentation or resources to Archive.org and link to it in a reference here. This site doesn't have enough storage for holding large PDFs and isn't capable of dealing with possible legal challenges. Reverse engineered or other user created documents, with the author's permission, may be uploaded here.
- More information is better about capacitors, but if you found something that worked and want to share that's helpful enough for me. But if you don't have measurements for the original parts please only link to the parts you used instead and don't put their values down as the original so there is a record of what the device was designed to use.
