Known Issues

Symptom or Problem Encountered

Intermittent reboots, sometimes several times within a few seconds. Sometimes the monitor wouldn't respond to button inputs.

Causes

Solutions

  • replace caps

Disassembly Notes

The chassis is clipped together all-around, but you might need to remove the VESA mounting screws. Be careful near the buttons, and don't damage the thin ribbon. Viewed from the front, there's a groove and a shoulder. The groove is where the prying tool should be inserted. A crow bar shaped tool should be inserted from the front, pushing towards the back, gently levering. Ultimately, the front bezel should not actually be removed - think of the procedure as loosening things up. Once all the clips are loose, place the monitor on its front and lift up the rear shell - that's where the juicy bits are. The little button ribbon can be removed from the logic board, by squeezing the little tabs and pulling gently, in order to unlock the receptacle (they're quite fragile). Don't forget to unplug the wide LVDS ribbon from the panel, by squeezing the little tabs on the side and wiggling it out, gently. For completeness sake, there are 2 CCFL backlight plugs, that need removing - squeeze the moulded connector, to unlock the cantilevered latch, and pull.
