Neck Board Removal

The neckboard on the SC1224 has many cables and connectors on it and is glued to the tube with a patch of silicone.

Disconnection Checklist:

  • Detach two ground wires going to screws on the power supply
  • Disconnect black (degauss?) cable on the bottom of the neck board
  • Cut silicone around socket
  • Cut sleeved cable ties holding it to the neck board to give room to move it
  • These are soldered in place connectors that cannot be unplugged
  • Pay attention to red cable (CRT heater?) as it is permanently connected to the tube socket and flyback transformer
