Needs a belt replacement, has a known issue with a certain gear, there is a flex-circuitboard soldered onto the main board that needs to be desoldered to disasemble the device, this also counts for several other wires.
If the Walkman malfunctions when you connect Headphones (or other devices) to it, itis caused by the remote control circuit, you can disable this circuit with a simple modification.
