The Keys Fitness 5600T is a motorized treadmill with a 3HP motor.

E44 shows on treadmill screen
Causes
- Keypad membrane is failing
Solutions
- Replace the keypad membrane (you can't get new ones since they aren't being manufactured anymore)
- Cut the top portion of the membrane of the failing button(s) in question
- Replace the keypad membrane with microswitches (you only need to replace the power and start/stop on the keypad)
Disassembly Notes
There are two sections you may want to gain access to.
The top section (keypad, display, processor) can be accessed by first undoing the 2 screws each for the cable covers on the left and right side of the treadmill, then undoing the 4 screws in front and 5 screws in the back. You can now remove the cover and unplug the cables connecting the top plastic piece to the bottom piece.
The bottom section can be accessed by removing the two screws in the back of, and two screws on the left and right side of, the motor cover.
