Different capacitor brands and sizes have differently shaped bungs (the rubber seal at the bottom of an aluminum electrolytic or aluminum polymer capacitor). I believe the different shapes help with stress on the leads? Here are some different bungs from different manufacturers. Note that bungs might be different between series and production date.

2 Semicircle Bung

This bung is present on Elna and Partsnic capacitors.

2 Semicircle Bung

Black=high parts of the bung. Black Circles=Holes in the bung for the capacitor leads.

Flat Bung

These capacitors have no shape to their bungs on some capacitors: Chang, Fujicon, Gather, Gemcon, G-K, Hengcon, HZC, ICCC, Jakec, Jamicon, JWCO, L.H. Nova, Marcon, OST, Samxon, Teapo, Telecon, TF, and Unites

I-Bung

I Bung

This bung is present on smaller United Chemi-Con capacitors as well as Partsnic,Rubycon, Samwha, Samyoung, Shoei, and Taicon capacitor

Black=low parts of the bung. Holes=Holes in the bung for the capacitor leads.

T-Bung

T Bung

This bung is present on larger United Chemi-Con capacitors.

Black=low parts of the bung. Holes=Holes in the bung for the capacitor leads.
