Leak Risk High
Batteries None
Mounting Technology Through Hole
Capacitor Types Aluminum Electrolytic, Ceramic, Polymer
Destructive Entry No
Power Requirements
Input Voltage 100V AC

Power supply for multiple PC-9821 ノート (notebook) computers.

Known Issues

Computer won't power on, sometimes LEDs flash for a moment.

Causes

  • Leaking capacitors

Solutions

  • Clean PCB and replace capacitors

Disassembly Notes

There is a screw hidden under the label. Note that it is a Japanese screw, so if you don't have Japanese screwdrivers be careful not to strip it with a Philips head.

After removing the screw the sides are clipped together.

Once inside the PSU is surrounded by a metal shield and plastic insulation. Desolder the metal part from the PCB, and remove the nut and screw for the heatsink. It will then slide off.
